To access the online NCEA study guides, exam paper libraries and free supplementary educational resources you need to become a member of Chemtuts by registering.

We do not need much information to set up your membership. It takes about 30 seconds to register. You will recieve an acknowledgement email containing username and password so you can login to MyDesk which holds all the NCEA level chemistry resources. You can login to the members only area (MyDesk) of the Chemtuts website at any time.

MyDesk holds nine NCEA Chemistry Study Guides and nine Exam Paper Libraries. There is a fee of $NZ10.00 to get online access to each Study Guide and associated quizzes for one calendar year. Your access is unlimited, 24/7. Each Exam Paper Library is $10.00 for one calendar year of unlimited online access. The Level 1 material is now $3.00. Each Exam Paper Library associated with each Study Guide holds copies of seven past exam papers (2015-2023 inclusive) and seven matching exam papers with premium answers including additional advice on how to write answers that will help you to secure the best possible marks in NCEA chemistry exams. Each Study Guide can be used interactively with the matching Exam Paper Library.

Payment can be made through a secure payment gateway inside MyDesk using a PayPal account or a credit/debit card.

MyDesk also has other supplementary educational resources which are provided free. This resource is added to on a regular basis. Again, your access is unlimited, 24/7.

Note: All Level 1 achievement standards (Carbon Chemistry, Elements, and Chemical Reactions) expired at the end of 2023. They have been replaced by other achievement standards starting 2024. We are redeveloping our Level 1 content to cover the new AS92021 and AS92023 achievement standards.
