About the Author

I have a BSc(Hons) and PhD in biochemistry. I have about 30 years of scientific research, university teaching and academic management experience in biochemical and biomedical science.

I have worked internationally in research institutes in New Zealand and the USA, and New Zealand and Australian universities.

I have successfully tutored students at the NCEA level and beyond. It is this experience that has inspired me to put together these NCEA-level resources and to make the information more accessible.

I am passionate about passing my knowledge on to you and sparking a stronger interest in chemistry. Mastering chemistry will provide you with wonderful stair-casing opportunities into tertiary level study and finally into rewarding careers.

I have developed online NCEA Chemistry study guides, associated quizzes with over 250 questions in each study guide and separate workshops (exam paper libraries) on how to write top exam answers using past exam papers. There are ten exam papers associated with each study guide; from 2015-2024):
